Peter Gray
Senior Vice President
Peter Gray’s career has focused on strategic communications and marketing for the clean energy, public policy and environmental sectors.
He has a depth of experience in media relations, marketing, research, community relations, events, social media, web and print design. His volunteer efforts include serving on the auxiliary board of the Rebuilding Exchange, a reclaimed building materials nonprofit.
Prior to joining Aileron, Peter led North American marketing and communications for ACCIONA, a global renewable energy developer and wind turbine manufacturer. In this role, Peter managed communications around the company’s 1,000 MW operating portfolio of wind and solar projects, its development pipeline and its entrance into the EPC market. He also oversaw the successful launch of ACCIONA’s 3 megawatt AW3000 wind turbine in North America.
Before his work at ACCIONA, Peter managed communications for the Environmental Law & Policy Center, where he organized communications for a successful coalition campaign to reduce pollution from Chicago coal plants, contributed to a series of reports on clean energy business in the Midwest and developed an online storytelling platform to raise visibility around water pollution issues in Indiana.
He also managed the media and communications efforts at Illinois Action for Children, where he expanded the organization’s research, lobbying and community organizing efforts in support of early childhood care and education policy.
Early in his career, Peter worked as a freelance journalist for the Chicago Sun-Times and other publications. He received a bachelor’s degree in English and writing from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
