David Jakubiak

David Jakubiak’s career spans more than 20 years in strategic communications and journalism working in the private and non-profit sectors. He has spent the last decade working in renewable energy and energy storage at the cross section of policy, public relations, and community engagement. David’s work at Aileron has helped advance domestic clean energy manufacturing and supported wind, solar and storage projects across the United States.
David develops collaborative communications strategies that help get projects permitted and built. He identifies key community stakeholders and develops targeted messaging and promotional opportunities that lead to project support. His work includes early project development, community outreach, permitting support, social media management, construction support, and social responsibility programing.
Prior to joining Aileron, he spent three years at Acciona Energy North America, helping advance the development of more 1,000 MW of wind and solar projects in ERCOT and PJM. This work built on six years at the Environmental Law and Policy Center, supporting clean energy policy development. David also worked in newspapers, most notably as an environmental reporter with the Hilton Head Island Packet (SC) and as a freelance music columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. He is a graduate of the MSJ program at the Medill School at Northwestern University.
