As Aileron’s Senior Strategist, John counsels clients on marketing and public relations issues, including positioning, message development, media relations and crisis communications. He also leads the Aileron creative team in the development of print and digital programs, including graphic identity, advertising and web site design.

A former journalist for "Forbes," the "Milwaukee Journal" and other publications, John joined global conglomerate The Marmon Group, Inc. as director of communications in 1991. There, he consulted with Marmon's 100-plus companies on marketing communications and public relations in a wide variety of industries including finance, mining, music and water treatment.

After leaving Marmon in 1998, John served as a strategic communications consultant for VSA Partners, advising such clients as Ameritrade, Steelcase, Campbell Soup and US West on brand development and brand management. Most recently, he has worked with a variety of companies, including e-procurement company SupplyCore.com, MarCap Corp. (a financing company focused on the medical and telecom markets) and LVAD Technology (developers of a heart assist device).

A graduate of Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, John has taught at Roosevelt University and Carroll College, and has lectured on the subjects of media relations and crisis communications for numerous organizations. His work has been recognized by the City and Regional Magazine Association, The AR 100 and Communication Arts, among others. John is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
